Job Description

Software Developer

Location: Remote (with once-a-month visits to Sheffield)
Type: Full-time
Salary: Competitive + Excellent Benefits

Overview

Are you a team player who thrives in a collaborative environment? Do you want to work on software that has a real-world impact? We’re looking for talented and motivated Software Developers at all levels to join a dynamic and close-knit team. Whether you’re just starting your career or are an experienced developer seeking your next challenge, this role offers the opportunity to grow, learn, and make a difference.

This is a mostly remote role, with the flexibility to work from home and just one day a month required in Sheffield.

Responsibilities

As a Software Developer, you’ll be part of a team that takes ownership of the entire development lifecycle. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and maintain software solutions.
  • Working across the full technology stack, from architecture and design to deployment and monitoring.
  • Contributing to the development of mission-critical systems that ensure reliability and safety.
  • Sharing knowledge, providing feedback, and fostering a culture of continuous learning.
  • Tackling a variety of technical challenges with a versatile and adaptable mindset.

Qualifications

We’re looking for individuals who bring:

  • A proven ability to deliver working software solutions.
  • Experience with, or a willingness to learn, technologies such as .NET, ASP.NET Core, Blazor, WPF, Azure SQL, AWS, C#, JavaScript, and Web APIs.
  • A broad technical knowledge base (specific maritime experience is not required).
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, with an openness to share and receive feedback.
  • A collaborative and curious mindset, with a passion for building dependable software.

We value attitude and potential as much as specific experience. If you’re eager to learn and grow, we’ll support you every step of the way.

Day-to-Day

Here’s what a typical day might look like:

  • Collaborating with your team during stand-ups to discuss progress and challenges.
  • Writing clean, efficient, and reliable code to develop new features or improve existing ones.
  • Participating in code reviews to share knowledge and maintain high-quality standards.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving technical issues to ensure smooth operation of systems.
  • Learning new technologies and contributing to the continuous improvement of processes.

Benefits

We believe in creating an environment where you can thrive. Here’s what we offer:

  • A supportive and inclusive team culture.
  • Opportunities for career development and technical leadership.
  • Hybrid working with flexible hours to suit your lifestyle.
  • Modern, newly refurbished offices near Sheffield with excellent transport links.
  • The chance to work on software that has a global reach and helps keep the seas safe.

If you’re ready to join a team that values collaboration, innovation, and making a difference, we’d love to hear from you. Apply today and take the next step in your career!
